Celebrations with Friends

My friends Sally, Becky, Michelle and I didn't have a chance to get together for a Christmas celebration before Christmas so we got together on January 12th when we were all back from vacation. We had a fabulous girls night with appetizers, cheese, wine, presents and board games.

















Sally's Birthday

I'm not allowed to mention how old she is now, but Sally's birthday was Monday, January 21st and the only night the 4 of us girls were all able to get together to celebrate was the Friday before her birthday. We wanted to do something a little different and took that Friday afternoon off work. We took her to Canmore, a pretty little mountain town about an hour from us. We spent a few hours shopping along snowy main street, where she picked out a birthday gift. We also stopped at the candy store that served all types of specialty candy and we bought some of our favourite candies and a Fun Dip for each of us (because we all remembered loving Fun Dip when we were kids). We had supper at a little restaurant called the French Quarter Cafe that served really good New Orleans-style food. We even had alligator. Very yummy!

After supper we drove back through the town and up a road on the mountainside. We parked at a spot that overlooked the lights of the town in the valley and the looming black mountains on the other side. There we enjoyed our Fun Dip before driving back home.
